The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) is the international information network serving communication professionals locally, nationally, and throughout the world. IABC is a communicator's source for topical information, project consultation, management skills, and career development. IABC currently has more than 13,000 members in 74 countries.
Local Involvement
IABC/Memphis is one of the more than 100 local IABC chapters and our members are professionals from diverse communications disciplines whose purpose is to improve business through strategic communications.
Members of IABC/Memphis have the opportunity for professional advancement through publications, communications-specific research, local district and international meetings and seminars, and networking.
International Scope
The international orientation of IABC is becoming increasingly valuable to members. As the world grows closer and organizations' operations cross national boundaries, communicators need to better understand the diversity of many cultures.
At the same time, local chapters in each country must encompass and reflect the diversity in their communities as they target their communication efforts. Members are learning from each other and IABC is at the forefront in helping minimize traditional barriers and encourage an understanding of multiculturalism through information, networks, education, professional development and research.
